Ford Tire Maintenance

Date: Sept 29, 2023

2023 Ford Raptor Bronco driving in the desert

Many Wenonah drivers do not think of their tires as a safety feature of their vehicles, but that is exactly what they are. Your tires ensure that there is enough traction for safe handling on the roads of Blackwood and beyond. This is why regular Ford tire maintenance is so important. If you are ready to learn how to check Ford tire tread and more, dive into our Ford tire maintenance guide below.

Inspect Your Tires Monthly

Every month, we recommend taking ten minutes to inspect your tires. This allows you to identify small issues before they turn into costly repairs.

While most vehicles feature a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, manually checking your tire pressure is still recommended. Be sure that your tires are “cold” before you check the pressure. You should be able to get an accurate reading a few hours after you last drove the vehicle. If your tires need more air, gradually fill them to the correct level.

We also recommend checking your tires for damage. See if there are any gashes, cracks, or embedded objects. You should also check for uneven wear patterns on your tires. This could indicate issues such as overinflated tires, misaligned wheels, or suspension problems.

How to Check Ford Tire Tread

Wondering how to check Ford tire tread? You only need a penny!

  • Place your penny into a tread groove upside down.
  • Can you see the top of Lincoln’s head? If you can, it’s time to replace your tires
  • Repeat the penny test on all tires. Be sure to check multiple locations on each tire.

Essential Tire Services

These tire services are also required if you want to get the most out of your tires.

  • Rotate and Balance Tires – Every 5,000 to 7,000 miles
  • Wheel Alignment – Every 7,000 miles

Ford Tire PSI Guide

The recommended Ford tire pressure is usually between 32-36 PSI. Keep in mind that PSI recommendations vary based on your tires and the vehicle configuration you drive. Consult your owner’s manual for exact figures. Recommended tire pressure may also be listed on the sticker located on the inside edge of your driver’s door.
